Jake is a very good athlete with a great work ethic that can play almost anywhere on the diamond. He is an excellent defensive first baseman with an above average glove. On the mound he benefits from a good variety of pitches with different speeds and movement, he is very efficient pitcher that works quickly and uses tempo to his advantage to keep batters uncomfortable. Jake is an average hitter with good patience in the box and a good eye of pitches in the zone, he seems to value hitting for average above hitting for power as he hits a lot of line drives and gap shots as opposed to fly balls.

ACHIEVEMENTS

Jake is an excellent student that challenges himself in the classroom as well as on the field. He is in the top 20% of his graduating class and maintains a 3.6 GPA using the same work ethic I spoke of before. He has excelled in many honors classes, college credit classes, and is a member of the National Honor Society where he participates in community service opportunities and excels in helping others. In addition, he is a 2-year varsity letterman - Sophomore & Junior years at Northwest High School in Wichita.
